Number 22

Number 22 in Bible is associated with number 11 with doubled emphasis and power on chaos and destruction. Jeroboam, the first ruler of Israel after the separation reigned for 22 years, as well as Ahab, who is believed to be the least successful and terrible king of Israel.

However, number 22 is used as symbol of directed God’s power as well. Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters, these letters compose the God’s word. According to Psalms God’s word is “lamp” which is considered to be a source of light, and if you believe in God, you are never in the dark. In Old Testament we can find 22 books to Israel, which means God’s light to Israel people.

The Gospel of John mentioned the word light 22 times, and the 22nd mentioning described Jesus as a light that entered the world. The last words of Jesus were the quote from Psalm 22.
